If so, grab your hi-vis and join our Waste & Recycling Team! We're looking for enthusiastic, reliable individuals who aren't afraid of an early start and a little hard work. You'll be the unsung hero keeping the Borough clean, green, and running smoothly.
What's the Job?
As a Waste & Recycling Operative, you'll be part of a hardworking crew collecting household waste and recycling across the Borough. Every day is different, with plenty of fresh air, teamwork, and the satisfaction of knowing you're helping residents and protecting the environment.
Your Daily Adventures Will Include:
Collecting household waste and recycling safely and efficiently
Assisting residents with a smile and providing excellent customer service
Delivering recycling information and helping promote environmental initiatives
Working with different crews and in various locations as required
Supporting the delivery of first-class waste and recycling services
Spotting and reporting street scene issues such as:
- Fly-tipping
- Graffiti
- Potholes
- Other environmental concerns
Handling bins, containers and equipment safely and responsibly
Supporting and guiding less experienced team members when needed
Attending training to keep your skills sharp and your knowledge up to date
Working safely at all times and looking after yourself, your colleagues, and members of the public
What You'll Bring:

Good teamwork skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision

Physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual handling tasks
