MIG Welder Fabricator
Location: Saxmundham, East Suffolk (own transport required due to rural location)
Pay: £15.50-£17.00 per hour (DOE)
Job type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week (07:30-16:30)
HRGO Recruitment is working with a well-established, family-run engineering fabrication business supplying high-quality, bespoke metalwork and engineered solutions to the agricultural sector. Due to continued growth, they're looking to add a skilled MIG Welder Fabricator to their workshop team.
This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in accurate fabrication, tidy welds, and building to drawing.
Key responsibilities
- Fabricate metal components: cutting, shaping, drilling and assembling parts
- MIG welding on a range of metals to a high standard
- Work from engineering drawings / blueprints and job specifications
- Mechanical fitting and assembly of fabricated components (accurate alignment, finishing, fit-up)
- Inspect and check finished work for quality and accuracy
- Use workshop machinery and tools safely and correctly
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following H&S procedures
Skills & experience (essential)
- Proven experience in fabrication and welding in a workshop/engineering environment
- Confident with: MIG welding (approx. 2-10mm)
- Strong mechanical fitting skills and attention to detail
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work as part of a team
- Commitment to health & safety
- Own transport due to location
Desirable (not essential)
- Experience within agricultural engineering/fabrication
- Welding/fabrication qualifications (e.g., NVQ or equivalent)
- TIG welding on stainless steel down to approx. 1.2mm
Pay: £15.50-£17.00 p/hr (DOE) (approx. £34,255-£37,570 per year, based on 42.5 hrs/week)
