Job Title: Welder Fabricator

Location: Dover

Role: Full time – 40hrs per week Monday – Friday

Salary: IRO £35K pa

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Welder Fabricator to join a busy engineering team. This is a physically demanding role working across a busy operational engineering environment. You'll be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and around heavy engineering equipment. Flexibility is essential, including participation in standby and emergency call-out rotas, with additional payments available.

Welder FabricatorKey Responsibilities

  • Carry out fabrication and welding repairs on a wide range of plant and equipment.
  • Perform welding using MMA, MMAW and GTAW techniques.
  • Manufacture components and structures from engineering drawings.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
  • Support the day-to-day operation of the mechanical workshop.
  • Accurately complete maintenance records using an ERP system.
  • Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
  • Work closely with operational teams, contractors and suppliers.
  • Assist with sourcing materials and engineering components.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to apprentices and colleagues.
  • Participate in standby, call-out and overtime rotas when required.

To be successful in the role of Welder Fabricator:

  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • At least 3 years' post-qualification experience in welding and fabrication.
  • Strong fabrication skills with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience carrying out high-quality welding and structural repairs.
  • Knowledge of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Good IT skills and experience using maintenance or ERP systems.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • A proactive attitude with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
