Job Title: Woodwork Operative Location: Ashford Hours : Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00 Pay: £13.30 per hour Job Type: Full time/permanent
We are looking for a Woodwork Operative to join our clients busy workshop producing high quality products. The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting, sanding, laminating and finishing products to a high standard, working as part of a small team to meet production schedules and quality targets.
Key responsibilities Accurately cut timber and panel materials to specified dimensions using hand and power tools. Sand components to achieve smooth, consistent surfaces and prepare items for finishing. Apply laminates and veneers with precision, ensuring correct adhesion and alignment. Carry out finishing processes including staining, sealing, painting or varnishing as required. Inspect finished items for quality and conformity to drawings and specifications. Maintain and clean machinery, tools and work areas; perform routine checks and report faults. Follow health and safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment. Complete basic production paperwork and assist with packaging and dispatch when needed.
Requirements An interest in carpentry and previous experience in a similar role would be preferred but not essential. Please note that due to the location of the client own transport is essential
