Workshop Controller (HGV)
Up to £49,000 OTE | Monday-Friday | Excellent Benefits
A well-established commercial vehicle dealership is seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to lead the day-to-day operation of a busy HGV workshop. This role is ideal for a highly organised, proactive individual who can effectively manage workshop performance, technician productivity, compliance, and customer service standards.
Salary & Hours
- Basic salary up to £43,000 DOE
- OTE up to £49,000 including bonus
- 41 hours per week
- Monday-Friday, typically 8:00am-5:00pm
- 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (8:00am-12:00pm)
Key Responsibilities
- Maximise workshop efficiency, productivity and profitability.
- Plan and allocate work effectively to technicians.
- Lead, motivate and develop the workshop team.
- Maintain strong communication between workshop, service, parts and customers.
- Ensure accurate completion of repair and service documentation.
- Manage workshop equipment, tooling and calibration records.
- Work closely with the Parts department to minimise downtime.
- Ensure manufacturer warranty standards are met.
- Maintain exceptional Health & Safety and housekeeping standards.
- Support customer satisfaction initiatives and maintain audit readiness.
About You
- Experience within an HGV, commercial vehicle or heavy automotive workshop environment.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
- Customer-focused with a commitment to quality and operational excellence.
