Workshop Vehicle Engineer (HGV Technician)
Day Shifts | Salary up to £54,000 + Overtime

The Role
You’ll be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a varied and diverse fleet. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to a wide range of vehicles, including:
- Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs)
- Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs)
- Road sweepers
- Hook loaders
- Light commercial vehicles (vans)
- Trailers and tippers
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Routine and preventative maintenance
- MOT preparation
- Servicing to DVSA standards
- 6- or 8-weekly safety inspections
- Diagnosing and rectifying faults
- Chassis and fabrication work
- Working with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Electrical diagnostics, wiring, and repairs
- Continuous improvement of vehicle standards
About You

You will ideally have:
- A recognised qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent)
- A strong understanding of commercial vehicle mechanics
- A proactive attitude and commitment to high-quality workmanship
Desirable (but not essential):
- IRTEC accreditation
- EV/Hybrid vehicle qualifications
- HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence
