Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities
As a Year 1 Teacher in Slough, you will:
- Deliver engaging lessons as a Year 1 Teacher.
- Take full class responsibility for a Year 1 class on a MAT cover basis.
- Support pupils through early Key Stage 1 development.
- Plan, prepare and assess learning effectively as a Year 1 Teacher.
- Create a positive, structured and nurturing classroom environment.

- Ensure continuity of learning during the MAT cover period.
Year 1 Teacher Requirements
The successful Year 1 Teacher will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have experience in Key Stage 1, ideally as a Year 1 Teacher.
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management and classroom practice.
- Be confident taking a MAT cover class in Slough.
- Be passionate about early years and KS1 education.
- Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
