The Role: We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our Year 3 team. The successful candidate will provide one-on-one support to a pupil with autism who exhibits some challenging behaviour. As well as supporting within the mainstream class and working in the provision for children with autism and communication needs. This role requires patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to managing and supporting the pupil's needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to the pupil, helping them to engage with the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.
- Implement strategies to manage and reduce challenging behaviour, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and deliver individualized learning plans.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere, promoting the pupil's social and emotional development.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals involved in the pupil's care.
About You:
- Experience working with children with autism and/or challenging behaviour.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent).
