Tradewind Recruitment

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is working with well-organised primary schools across Leyland and South Ribble to find a confident Year 4 Teacher for September 2026. Positions are available on a full-time or part-time basis to suit your availability.

In Year 4, pupils develop greater independence as learners. You will deliver the KS2 National Curriculum with creativity and rigour, with a particular focus on times tables fluency – including preparation for the Multiplication Tables Check – reading for pleasure, written composition and mathematical reasoning.

You will use assessment data to personalise learning and plan effective interventions, working collaboratively with teaching assistants and SENCO staff to support pupils with SEND and EAL. Planning is often shared across the year group, keeping workload manageable and expectations consistent across classes.

What we are looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • KS2 teaching experience, ideally in Years 3-5
  • Familiarity with the Multiplication Tables Check and strategies for building times tables fluency
  • Strong subject knowledge across core and foundation subjects at KS2 level
  • Confident in differentiation for SEND, EAL and mixed-ability groups
  • Good use of formative and summative assessment to drive pupil progress
  • Positive behaviour management with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils
  • Up-to-date safeguarding and child protection knowledge

Why teachers choose Tradewind

  • Transparent PAYE pay – weekly, with no umbrella companies or hidden deductions
  • Free access to 2,500+ CPD courses through The National College from day one
  • Real local knowledge of Leyland and South Ribble schools and their leadership teams
  • Dedicated consultant support from your first conversation through to the end of your placement
