About the Role
This opportunity would suit a motivated Year 6 teacher who enjoys working with Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to deliver engaging lessons and help pupils build confidence in literacy, numeracy and independent learning skills, while also preparing them for the transition to secondary school.
Responsibilities
- As the Year 6 teacher, plan and deliver engaging lessons that support pupil progress
- Support pupils in developing key literacy, numeracy and independent learning skills
- Establish clear routines and positive behaviour expectations within the classroom
- Use assessment to identify next steps for learning and support pupils of all abilities
- Build positive partnerships with families and collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Help prepare pupils for end-of-key-stage assessments and the move to secondary school
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (Year 6 experience desirable but not essential)
- Able to build a fair, respectful and encouraging learning environment
- Committed to consistent communication and professional collaboration
