Year 6 Teacher Responsibilities

As a Year 6 Teacher in Slough, you will:

  • Take responsibility for a Year 6 class as a Year 6 Teacher.

  • Deliver targeted teaching, intervention and consolidation work.

  • Work closely with another member of staff who will deliver core lessons.

  • Support small intervention groups to raise attainment and close gaps.

  • Plan and deliver engaging and purposeful learning activities.

  • Track pupil progress and support SATs preparation.

  • Create a structured, supportive and aspirational classroom environment.

  • Work collaboratively across the Slough school to support pupil outcomes.

Year 6 Teacher Requirements

The successful Year 6 Teacher will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Have experience teaching within Upper Key Stage 2, ideally as a Year 6 Teacher.

  • Be confident delivering intervention-based teaching alongside another class teacher.

  • Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Be committed to raising attainment and supporting SATs preparation.

  • Be passionate about supporting pupils through their final year as a Year 6 Teacher in Slough.

  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
