A well established and highly regarded independent chartered accountancy practice based in Uckfield is seeking an Audit Semi Senior to join their growing team. This role offers increasing responsibility, exposure to a varied client portfolio, and excellent opportunities for career development within a supportive environment.
The role will include:
- Assisting in the planning and execution of statutory audits for a diverse portfolio of clients, including SMEs and owner managed businesses
- Undertaking audit fieldwork, including testing of controls and substantive testing across key financial areas
- Preparing clear and well structured audit working papers in line with firm and regulatory standards
- Taking responsibility for specific sections of audits, with increasing ownership as experience develops
- Identifying audit issues and communicating findings to senior team members
- Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP
- Supporting the completion of audit assignments, including resolving queries and finalising files
- Building effective working relationships with clients and acting as a point of contact during audit engagements
- Supporting and guiding junior team members where appropriate
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 12 months experience and studying towards ACCA or ACA
- A practical audit and accounts experience gained from an accountancy practice with non-profit companies and charities.
- A knowledge of various software packages
- Strong communication and team working skills
- Experience in direct contact with clients would be preferred
Benefits
- £30,000 – £40,000 dependent on experience and background, negotiable.
