Your Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to deliver Cultural Capital across the school, providing rich and meaningful experiences both within and beyond the formal curriculum. This role is key to broadening pupils' horizons, building their self-esteem, and supporting their personal development.

We are seeking an innovative and engaging practitioner who can create and implement an immersive programme that sparks curiosity, enhances communication, and builds confidence in our pupils.

The successful candidate will plan and lead offsite trips and enrichment activities, as well as expose pupils to a wide range of creative and cultural experiences within the curriculum. The ability to teach and support various disciplines within expressive arts is an essential part of this role.

Key Duties

  • Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils in line with school policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT
  • Under the guidance of a teacher, support the delivery of learning activities and a broad, balanced curriculum
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with pupils to help them feel safe, engaged, and ready to learn
  • Work closely with pupils to support their understanding, providing additional explanations where needed
  • Assist in gathering evidence to support pupil attainment and progress
  • Participate in the evaluation of learning activities
  • Provide meaningful feedback on pupil progress and achievement
  • Support teachers with monitoring, assessing, recording, and reporting on pupil progress

Successful Candidate Qualities

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher
  • GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN, SLD/PMLD, ADHD, and ASD
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures
  • Experience managing a range of behaviours, including behaviours that challenge
  • Experience working within education (desirable)
  • Experience working within a multicultural, inclusive setting
